carriculum vitae

Konstantinos Zabetas was born and raised in Thessaloniki-Greece-Europe and holds a degree in Architecture + engineering. He learned the art of Architecture by his natal city and the science of Architecture by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As a student he focused on urbanism and traditional architecture, specifically emphasizing in the constructive than the restoration character of traditional and historic architecture.
His thesis work examined the effect of the modern transportation system into the urban structure of a traditional village, the re-establishment of the traditional urban structure of the village, the restoration of the 17th century church and the construction of a contemporary public multiple use building in a traditional form for the needs of the community.
As a licensed architect he has been active, in chronological order, in the following areas:
1.In the economic and technical administration of public works.
2.In the urban renewal of cities and more specifically, in the restructuring of the urban planning functionality of Larissa, Katerini, Rhodes, Leptokaria, etc.
3.In the planning of public spaces such as squares, parks, wayfarers etc, and in the pedestrianization of streets, therefore, car-free urban places can be achieved.
4.In the planning of campings, children holiday camps and other issues of landscape architecture.
5.In the analysis, planning and administration of residential interventions in ecosystems.
6.In the maintenance and restoration of traditional buildings.
7.In the legal investigation and the legality of urban planning and architectural interventions, and proposals referred to the urban-code.
8.In the planning and the construction of architectural projects and original buildings.
9.In the elaboration of newspaper articles and essays on architectural issues.
As a licensed (since 1987), registered Europian Architect, he has participated in two Architectural Competitions and since 1992 he keeps his own architectural office through which he participates in the A.E.C. industry. He also has formed a studio for designing + making portable house units, named them Hi-M (house in motion).
He is committed to the combination of a state of the art technology and a personal artistic handmade architectural synthesis. He uses his mind as the central progressive unit and equally his hands and his computer as the hardware.
He still make sketches of his ideas, visualizing them by using software as: Form Z (registered user) – Intellicad(native DWG format)+archT+Bricscad+Architecturals (registered user) – Vectorworks (registered user) – Arris (registered user) – Arcon (registered user) - Rinocheros (registered user) – Archicad (team license) – Nemetschek all plans (team license) – sketch up (team license) – Microstation triforma (team license), and presenting them by using software as: Photoshop – Painter – Artlantis. His presentations includes sketches, images, designs, plans, blueprints, videos and reports. Finally he has the hardware, the software and the experience to team working with others using networks and the Internet.
His favorite occupation is walking as a medium of ‘touching’ urban and environmental landscape while his favorite book is ‘’House Form And Culture’’ by Amos Rapoport.
